V-BOX News is the sister system to VECTORBOX, designed specifically for studios, newsrooms and anywhere where manual A/B roll playout of clips and graphics from disk are combined with feeds from cameras, OB van and satellite.

This unique, multi-format playout forms an integral part of a complete newsroom workflow, working hand-in-hand, via MOS interaction, with world-class newsroom systems like Octopus, Dalet, Avid iNEWS, ENPS and Autocue. V-BOX News can also be used in standalone mode to create effective news workflows for smaller channels where dedicated tools and news functionality give it the edge over standard video servers.

File format support is a key issue in any newsroom environment. V-BOX News can ingest clips over LAN and SAN from a variety of non-linear editors, including Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe and Sony, with different file and compression formats, and play them to air even when mixed in the same playlist.

You can trigger playout from V-BOX News independently or combine it with your vision mixer in different ways:

• You can use the vision mixer TAKE button to trigger clip playout from V-BOX News via tally output.

• You can use the V-BOX News ‘PLAY’ button to trigger TAKE on the vision mixer via GPI control or even fully control the vision mixer via RS422/232.
